The Deacon Love Fund is money that has been given through "love offerings" to the Deacons to help people that have immediate financial needs. It is not intended to be continuous support for financial shortfalls. There are circumstances under which the Deacons can't help. The Deacons believe that people in trouble are sent our way for a purpose - for God's purpose and for us to serve them.
There are no conditions or pre-requisites to asking for help from the Deacon Love Fund. You don't have to be a member of the church, you don't even have to attend our services. You are not expected to repay the money. You must simply demonstrate a sincere, honest need.
It is rare for the Deacons to give money directly to the requesting person. If the request is to pay a bill, like utilities, the money would be paid to the utility on their behalf. Every request is unique, so every response from the Deacons is unique as well.
There are those who might have dark motives, some want to find money to support their habit or addiction, some to scam for free money - but God is greater than their motives and where His light is shed, no shadows remain for long. Each request is handled in strictest confidence by the Deacons. Amounts given and people's names are never revealed to our congregation or members.
